Chris Simmons Muckler
After graduating from high school I planned to attend Appalachian State University. However, I stayed home because of financial reasons and the fact that I simply lacked a vision for my future. I decided to attend Surry Community College where I obtained an Associate in Arts and Associate in Science in 1991. While enrolled, I took several courses with Ms. Tamara Carter. She set an example for me with her spunky personality, her established expectations, and her professionalism.
After leaving SCC, I served two years active duty in the United States Air Force as a laboratory technician while attending classes at local universities. After graduating with a BSN from Auburn University Montgomery in Alabama in 1997, I returned to NC and worked at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for three and a half years, and returned to school (yes, again) to complete nurse anesthesia training with a MSN in 2002.
